Now the topic of my blog is MYOMA. Why? Because on year 2005 I was diagnosed with myoma due to constant hormonal imbalance. But according to my doctor here in Japan, it is still small(.3cm diameter) and not growing. The doctor here recommend me to don't undergo surgery because it will be disappear or shrink itself when you are in menopausal age. Now I'm in menopausal age status already but I don't feel any pain in my abdomen. But the doctor say I must have regular check-up for monitoring the myoma. So far I'm okey and there is no worry yet I'm so very careful. I always drink green tea. Because green tea is good for the body. My Japanese husband is always drink tea and he encourage me to drink tea because it's good for the body. So here's the main topic of my blog below⤵️
What is Myoma?
Myoma, also known as uterine fibroids, is a common medical condition affecting women. It is a non-cancerous growth that occurs in or around the uterus. While many women with fibroids may not experience any symptoms, others may suffer from heavy and painful periods, anemia, pelvic pain, and infertility. The purpose of this blog is to explain the myoma and provide an overview of the treatment options available for this condition.
Understanding about Myoma⤵️
Myoma is a common benign tumor that affects the smooth muscle and connective tissue of the uterus. These growths can be as small as a pea or as large as a grapefruit, and multiple myomas can develop at once. While the precise cause of myoma is unknown, research suggests that estrogen and progesterone play a role in its development. Hormonal imbalance is one of the causes of myoma. Myomas arise from the muscular layer of the uterus called the myometrium. Hormones, such as estrogen and progestin, increase the growth of cells in the myometrium that can cause myoma to develop. There are additional hormonal factors, such as insulin-like growth factor1 (IGF-1) and cytokine interleukin6 (IL-6) that increase the growth of cancer cells in the myoma. Women who are obese or have a family history of myoma are also at higher risk of developing this condition.

Symptoms and Diagnosis of Myoma
Many women with myoma may not experience any noticeable symptoms and only discover they have the condition during a routine gynecological exam. However, for some women, the presence of myoma can lead to severe symptoms. A thorough exam with imaging studies such as ultrasound or MRI can help to identify the presence, location, and size of myoma in the uterus.
Not all women with myomas have symptoms, but for those experiencing symptoms, this may include:
- Heavy or prolonged and painful periods
- Stomach or back pain
- Experiencing pain during intercourse
- Having frequent urination
- Feeling of pressure or weight in the pelvic area
- Anemia
- Infertility

Treatment Options for Myoma⤵️
Treatment options for myoma depend on a woman's age, the severity of symptoms, the size and location of the myoma, and a range of factors. For women who are not experiencing any symptoms, close monitoring with regular checkups may be an option. For women experiencing symptoms, treatment options include medication, myomectomy, or hysterectomy.
There are a few medications that can be used for the treatment of myomas (also known as fibroids), including:
1. Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists:⤵️
These medications work by reducing estrogen levels, which can cause fibroids to shrink. Examples include leuprolide, goserelin, and nafarelin.
2. Progestin-releasing intrauterine device (IUD):⤵️
The Mirena IUD releases a hormone called progestin, which can help to reduce bleeding and pain associated with fibroids.
3. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs):⤵️
Medications like ibuprofen and naproxen can help to manage pain and reduce heavy bleeding associated with fibroids.
4. Tranexamic acid:⤵️
This medication can be used to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding associated with fibroids.
It's important to note that medication alone may not be sufficient for the treatment of large or symptomatic fibroids, and surgery may be necessary in some cases. A doctor will recommend the best treatment option for each individual based on the size and location of the fibroids, as well as the severity of symptoms.

Natural Remedies for Myoma⤵️
In addition to conventional medical treatments, there are various natural remedies and complementary therapies that have been used to treat myoma. However, it is important to note that these remedies are not a replacement for conventional medical treatment and should only be used under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider or your ob-gynecologist.
There are various natural remedies that may help in reducing the symptoms of myoma. However, it is essential to speak with a healthcare provider before trying any home remedies for myoma, as these remedies may not be suitable for everyone.
Some of the natural remedies for myoma include:⤵️
1. Diet changes:⤵️
Eating a healthy and balanced diet that is high in fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein may help in reducing the symptoms of myoma.
2. Herbal supplements:⤵️
Certain herbs such as green tea, turmeric, ginger, chasteberry, and milk thistle have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may help in reducing the growth of myoma.
3. Castor oil packs:⤵️
Application of a castor oil pack to the lower abdomen, several times a week, may help in reducing inflammation and improving circulation to the uterus.
4. Acupuncture:⤵️
Acupuncture involves the insertion of needles at specific points in the body, which may help in reducing pain and other symptoms associated with myoma.
5. Exercise:⤵️
Regular physical activity such as brisk walking, swimming, or yoga may help in reducing stress and improving overall health.
It is important to note that these natural remedies may not cure myoma, but they may help in reducing the severity of symptoms. Consultation with your healthcare provider is recommended before trying any home remedies for myoma.

Supplement for Myoma?⤵️
There is no specific supplement that can directly cure myoma (uterine fibroids), but there are some supplements that can help with the management of symptoms or the general health of the reproductive system. Remember that before taking any supplement, it is important to consult a doctor first, especially if there are pre-existing medical conditions.
Supplements That May Help Myoma:⤵️
1. Vitamin D:⤵️
• According to studies, Vitamin D deficiency may be connected to the development of fibroids. Vitamin D supplements may help shrink fibroids or reduce the risk of developing them.
2. Green Tea Extract (EGCG):⤵️
• The compound Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) found in green tea has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Some studies have shown that it may help shrink fibroids and improve symptoms such as pain.
3. Curcumin (Turmeric):⤵️
• Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It can help reduce inflammation and inhibit the growth of fibroids.
4. Omega-3 Fatty Acids:⤵️
• Omega-3 helps suppress inflammation and improve hormone balance. It can be obtained from supplements or foods such as fish, flaxseed, and chia seeds.
5. B-Vitamins (B6, B12, Folate):⤵️
• B-vitamins are important in regulating hormone levels, which can help manage fibroids. B6 and B12 specifically help produce serotonin, which can help improve mood and reduce stress.
6. Magnesium:⤵️
• Magnesium helps relax muscles, so it can reduce cramping and pain associated with myomas.
7. DIM (Diindolylmethane):⤵️
• DIM is a compound found in cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, kale, cauliflower) and helps balance estrogen levels in the body. Because myoma is linked to estrogen, DIM may help the body use estrogen more efficiently and control the growth of fibroids.
Other Lifestyle and Dietary Recommendations:⤵️
• High-fiber diet: Eating lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps regulate hormones and detoxify the body from excess estrogen.
• Limit red meat and processed foods: These can increase inflammation and estrogen levels.
• Avoid alcohol and caffeine: These can worsen symptoms due to their effect on hormone regulation.
Always check with your healthcare provider before starting any supplements to make sure they are safe and appropriate for your condition.
