πΌ Hello Again, Blog World! πΌ
After a long pause, I’m finally back to writing—and it feels like returning to an old friend. This blog has always been my quiet little space in a noisy digital world, and I’ve missed it deeply. Today, I’m starting fresh, reflecting on something that has quietly shaped my everyday routine for years: social media.
Since the year1998, scrolling or surfing in the web through desktop computer turn to Smartphone lately, has become part of my daily life. From MySpace, Hi5, Yahoo Chat, MSN Messenger, Friendster to Facebook, Multiply to Instagram, Twitter but now X, Tiktok, YouTube. I’ve witnessed the evolution of online platforms firsthand.
For years, checking notifications, uploading photos, watching videos, and sharing life updates became second nature to me. However, as time passed, I began to notice how these platforms affected my time, energy, and peace of mind. That’s why I made the decision to deactivate my Facebook, Twitter or X, Instagram accounts—to take back a sense of control and clarity in my life.
Despite that, Sometime I’m still active on TikTok and YouTube, which I now use more mindfully—not just for entertainment, but a hobby, for inspiration, learning, and creative expression. These platforms continue to play a role in my activities, but I’ve learned to navigate them with more awareness than ever before.

(My Personal Observations, Experience, Pros & Cons, Do’s and Don’ts)”
What Is the Impact, effect or repercussion of Social Media on Our Daily Lives?
My Personal Observations and Reflections⤵️
In today’s digital age, it’s nearly impossible to go through a single day without encountering social media in one form or another. Whether it’s scrolling through Facebook while sipping morning coffee, checking Instagram during lunch, or watching YouTube videos before bed—social media has become deeply woven into our daily routine.
Speaking from my personal experience, I’ve seen both the blessings and burdens that social media brings. This blog is not just a reflection, but a realistic analysis of how social media affects our lives—emotionally, mentally, socially, and even physically.
My Daily Observations on Social Media Use⤵️
As someone who uses social media regularly for both personal and professional purposes, I’ve noticed how it shapes my mood, productivity, communication style, and even my perception of self-worth.
There are days when a single post inspires me or makes me smile. But there are also days when I feel drained, unproductive, or overwhelmed after hours of endless scrolling.
This duality made me reflect: What is social media truly doing to us?
The Pros of Social Media⤵️
Let’s begin with the positive side—because despite the criticism it gets, social media has genuine benefits:
1. Connectivity and Communication
Social media has made it possible to stay in touch with friends and family, even from across the world.
- I’ve reconnected with childhood friends I thought I’d lost forever.
- I can check on loved ones, celebrate their milestones, or simply say hello through a quick message or emoji.
2. Access to Information and Learning
From breaking news to online tutorials, social media is a powerful source of information.
- I’ve learned new recipes, business tips, and even emotional wellness techniques—all from posts shared by others.
- Educational creators are using TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram to teach in creative, bite-sized formats.
3. Platform for Self-Expression
Social media allows me (and millions of others) to share our voice.
- I use it to write, post photographs, share my thoughts, and even advocate for causes I care about.
- It gives people the confidence to express their identity and passions in ways traditional media never did.
4. Opportunities and Networking
Social media can open doors—professionally for marketing strategy, online monetization, Selling online and able to be viral or chance to be well known. Literally can earn money in Social Media.
- I’ve met amazing people, discovered freelance work, and found inspiration from like-minded communities.
- It serves as a modern portfolio, resume, and recommendation engine—if used wisely.
The Cons of Social Media⤵️
However, social media isn’t all sunshine and hashtags. Here are some drawbacks I’ve personally experienced or observed:
1. Time Drain and Addiction
Let me be honest—there are days I intend to check just one notification, but end up scrolling for hours.
- This takes away time from real-life tasks and responsibilities.
- It can become addictive without us even noticing it.
2. Mental Health Strain
Social media sometimes creates anxiety, stress, and even sadness.
- Comparing my life to others’ highlight reels made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough.
- The pressure to appear perfect online can be exhausting and fake.
3. Misinformation and Toxic Content
Not everything online is true.
- I’ve seen fake news, clickbait, and hateful content that creates fear and confusion.
- It’s important to fact-check before believing or sharing anything.
4. Reduced Real-Life Interaction
Ironically, the more “connected” we are online, the more disconnected we sometimes feel in real life.
- I’ve caught myself checking my phone during meals or conversations—missing out on real, face-to-face connection.
- Overuse can lead to isolation and loneliness.
Do’s and Don’ts of Using Social Media Wisely⤵️
Through experience and trial-and-error, I’ve come up with a simple list of do’s and don’ts that help me use social media more responsibly:
✅ DO’s:⤵️
- Set time limits: Use timers or app blockers to avoid overuse.
- Follow uplifting and educational content: Fill your feed with positivity and learning.
- Engage meaningfully: Comment, share, or react with intent.
- Be mindful of your mental state: If it makes you feel bad, take a break.
- Curate your digital space: Unfollow accounts that drain your energy.
❌ DON’Ts:⤵️
- Don’t compare your life to others’ highlight reels: You don’t see their struggles.
- Don’t overshare: Keep private things private; think before you post.
- Don’t immediately believe everything you read or see: Fact-check before reacting.
- Don’t engage in online drama or hate: It rarely solves anything and only brings negativity.
- Don’t lose sleep over it: Social media is a tool—not your whole life.
Tips for a Healthier Relationship with Social Media
Here are some personal tips that have helped me regain control and balance in my digital life:
- Digital Detox Days⤵️
Take a day or weekend off from social media. You’ll be surprised how calm and refreshed you’ll feel.
- Engage Offline⤵️
Call a friend instead of messaging. Meet for coffee. Read a book instead of scrolling.
- Practice Mindfulness⤵️
Be conscious of your screen time. Ask yourself: “Why am I opening this app right now?”
- Use Social Media with Purpose⤵️
Post with intention. Scroll with mindfulness. Follow with awareness.
Final Thoughts: Social Media Is a Tool—Not a Lifestyle
At the end of the day, social media is what we make it. It can either be a tool for business marketing, to earn online, for growth, connection, and learning—or a source of stress, anxiety, and distraction.
I believe that with self-awareness, discipline, and empathy, we can enjoy the best of both worlds: the convenience of technology and the beauty of real-life experiences.
Let us remind ourselves that life is happening here and now—not just on screens and feeds.
